One thing he doesn't usually fetch is STICKS. Sticks are a hobby unto themselves. |
Elmo is a dog who likes to keep busy. Therefore, he has a number of hobbies, which he enjoys. One that we do together is fishing |
The first time I took him fishing, he couldn't understand why I kept throwing things in the water, and refusing to let him chase them. Now he understands a little better, though he still thinks he should grab the bait before I can cast... or anyone else can cast, for that matter. If there is anyone else there he is equally happy to go after THEIR tackle. |
Another really fun hobby is going down slides, preferably with kids. If he's in a sliding mood, and I try to walk by the playground, he'll pull me right over there. Of course, I give in, and let him go down the slides. |
Playing fetch is always good, with either a ball or a frisbee. |

Chasing beams of light is another fun thing. I can create them with a flashlight, or a mirror. Sometimes they just come in the window on their own. (this is a bit safer, as he eventually will go for the flashlight) This game has the added bonus of making me laugh really hard, which Elmo enjoys. |
Of course, he also enjoys licking people and destroying cardboard boxes. All in all, Elmo manages to have a pretty interesting Stafford life, even when he is not taking me for walks. |
