I think I will at heart always consider myself an obedience person. It's how I came into dog sports, it's the base of all dog sport, and... well, I just enjoy the challenge of taking a set of frequently senseless exercises, and finding a way to explain them to a dog.
Fortunately for me, Staffords turn out to be fine obedience dogs, with the right training. They don't enjoy a lot of drill, short training sessions are best. And they are very "soft", despite their physical toughness, so the training should be based on positive reinforcement.
