The Well-trained Stafford
(NOT an oxymoron!)
It didn't take long after meeting my first Staffordshire Bull Terrier to realize I'd found my breed.  I had only one concern.  My life long, I'd had my heart set on doing competition obedience with a dog.  Everything I read and heard about the Stafford indicated that I'd chosen the wrong breed for that.   I wasn't swayed though, I decided to train and compete with my first Stafford (Elmo) anyway.

I was quite surprised to learn that, far from being difficult to train, my new dog was a dream to work with!  Our goals soon moved beyond obedience... there are so many dog sports out there, and I DO own "...a foremost all-purpose dog..."

Eventually, I hope to have quite a bit more here.  For now, here are my pages on the activities I compete in:
My charts on the relative performance abilities of different breeds (I worked hard on these, so they are on the site to stay!):
And the Performance SBT message board, as seen on the intro page, for anyone who'd like to discuss training and competition with this breed:
My Tully's impressive honor as the first SBT Superdog... notes on training, and the description of how I got her there:
